ADFS PROGRAMS: NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY FOR DANCE ARTS (NHSDA) at ADFS. NHSDA at ADFS is our prestigious chapter of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts, offering a unique opportunity for dedicated dance students to be recognized for their artistic merit, academic achievement, and leadership. ADFS proudly hosts one of the few NHSDA chapters available to high school students and is honored to be the only studio in the region offering a middle school chapter. This program is ideal for students interested in furthering their dance education and career, while also building essential life and leadership skills. As part of the NHSDA experience at ADFS, dancers will have access to: Scholarship opportunities and academic recognition. Webinars and conferences hosted by the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO). Exclusive class-style meetings focused on professional development, such as resume writing, goal setting, and college preparation. Guest speakers and industry professionals, providing insight into the dance world beyond the studio. Membership in NHSDA helps dancers grow not only as performers, but also as scholars and community leaders, making it an exceptional addition to any academic or artistic portfolio. TEACHER’S ASSISTANT (TA) PROGRAM: ADFS Teacher’s Assistants serve as positive role models to younger dancers by demonstrating in class and supporting our Instructors throughout the season. Dancers must be enrolled in required level classes and have at least one year of dance experience, with ballet strongly encouraged. TAs are placed in a weekly class appropriate to their age and skill level and are expected to assist both in class and on stage at recital. Being an ADFS TA is a meaningful opportunity for dancers to grow their leadership skills, develop stronger technique, foster friendships, and volunteer within the dance community. Required dance attire and shoes must be worn when assisting. Email programs@adfslv.com for more information or questions.
